A V-Day to Remember

It’s that time of the year again. The single day that strikes fear in the hearts of all spoken-for men across the country. That single day when the flower and candy industries are allowed to raise prices on items that were already overpriced to begin with. The single day where money doesn’t really matter because it’s all about showing the one you love how much you love them.

It’s time to break the tradition of bringing home a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolate and expecting that to be enough. Why not splurge this year and go all out on a night out in Chicago? It’s best to plan early, as restaurants, limousine companies, and entertainment options book quickly, but all in all, a suave person such as yourself can pull it off with no worries.

Plan a Sneak Attack

Start the evening off by getting dressed at your office. Tell your significant other that you’ll be rushing to pick them up because you have to stay late at work. They’ll be very surprised when you roll up in a limousine already dressed for the occasion. Have the chauffeur walk to the door with a single red rose and invite your special someone to join their you in the car for a night not to be forgotten.

Pre-Dinner Prep

During your preparation for the date, be sure to stop by your local grocery store or bakery and pick up fresh chocolate-covered strawberries. For an added bonus, get them made to look like little tuxedos. Why not also purchase a bottle of champagne from your local liquor store? When your date joins you in the car, present him or her with a champagne flute and a strawberry. It’s a perfect way to start off the romantic evening.

Cocktails

On your way to the first stop of the evening, try not to discuss work or home life. Now’s not the time to work out who’s picking up the dry cleaning and taking the dog to the vet. Your first stop for the night is Cocktail on North Halsten Street in the heart of Chicago.  Be sure to try your drinks infused with some of the less traditional infusions including cucumber, pineapple, and smoked green pepper.

Dinner

After you’ve enjoyed the live music and fun atmosphere of Cocktail, it’s time to head to dinner. Luckily, you called ahead a month ago (how thoughtful of you!) and made reservations at Everest located on South LaSalle Street on the 40th floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange, a great place to view the city from above. Be sure to try the Home Smoked Salmon or the Maine Peekytoe Crab, both of which are excellent dinner options. For dessert, you’ll want to try the selection of five fine chocolates, and perhaps an after-dinner cocktail.

After-Dinner Dancing

For a nice option after dinner and cocktails, consider strolling over to one of the many lounges for live music and dancing. GrandBar and Signature Lounge at the 96th are both great options that offer a comfortable seating area, dance floors, custom drinks, and a bar menu if you decide you could use a little something before the evening ends.

A Special End to a Special Evening

Speaking of the end of the evening, you’ve already had the night of your life, but it doesn’t have to stop. Consider getting a hotel while you’re in the city. After all, you only live once. You could always get a room at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. With a full room service menu, the fun can continue into the morning and well through the day if you decide that February 15th deserves to be an equally romantic occasion. Their spa is very highly rated!

Treat yourself to a quality night out, but be sure to choose the best options when considering a chauffeur and limousine service. The ride to Chicago should be as fun and romantic as the night itself.
